Methodology
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This page explains exactly how I evaluate WordPress tools, plugins, and services on this site, and what evidence backs every recommendation.
Who’s Behind This
This site is run by Harpreet Kumar, who works hands-on with WordPress development, SEO, and hosting to build and test everything covered here.
Our Evidence Levels
Not every product gets evaluated the same way. Every recommendation on this site is backed by one of three evidence levels:
- Hands-On Tested — installed and used on a dedicated test install, with original screenshots and documented test conditions
- Community & Reputation Research — patterns cross-referenced across independent sources, linked where possible
- Vendor-Sourced Facts — pricing and specs pulled from official documentation, clearly flagged as vendor-provided rather than independently verified
Verifying Pro & Premium Claims
A vendor’s feature list isn’t the same as a verified feature. For products I hands-on test, I install the product on a private test environment, and for every paid-tier claim I try to reproduce it myself and document what I actually observed, not just what the pricing page promises.
Our Scoring Criteria
Every product I review is scored against the same four categories, on a 1 to 5 scale:
- Features — how capable the product is for the job it claims to do
- Ease of Use — setup complexity and everyday usability
- Pricing & Value — current cost, renewal pricing, and what you get for it
- Support & Docs — quality of documentation and how responsive support actually is
The overall rating is the average of the categories I actually tested, rounded to the nearest 0.5. If I haven’t tested a category, it’s skipped rather than guessed.
What Counts as “Verified”
I note whether I paid for a product myself or used a trial, since renewal pricing and support quality often only show up after purchase. Screenshots come from my own testing, not vendor marketing material, and I check a product’s update history before recommending it, so I’m not pointing you toward something that’s been abandoned.
Editorial Independence
This site may earn a commission through affiliate links, see the Affiliate Disclosure for details. Commissions never determine ratings or rankings. A product can be recommended with no affiliate relationship at all.
What I Don’t Do
To keep this trustworthy, I don’t:
- Claim to have tested a product I haven’t actually used
- Present vendor marketing claims as independent findings
- Score a category I haven’t tested
- Rank products by commission size
- Publish performance numbers I can’t support
How Often I Re-Check
Pricing, features, and licensing terms change often in this space. I aim to re-verify published details periodically and update the relevant page when something material changes, the “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent check.
