Carpenter → coder · since 2016

Carpenter turned WordPress developer.

I spent 12 years building furniture by hand. Since 2016 I’ve been building websites the same way: a solid foundation, measure twice, build to last.

The short story

Two lives, one late night at a time.

From 2007 to 2019 I worked as a carpenter. In February 2016 I found blogging, and for almost four years I lived two lives: carpentry by day, learning the internet at night, one tutorial at a time. In December 2019 I put the tools down and went full time online.

That is why I check every detail before I publish, and why I write the way I work: plainly, tested first, written after.

Principles

How a carpenter builds websites

Solid foundation

Good hosting and clean code first. You can’t build a strong table on warped wood, and you can’t build a good website on sloppy code.

Measure twice, cut once

I check every technical detail before I publish anything.

No shortcuts

Quality takes time, whether it’s furniture or a website.

Built to last

A rushed job always shows up later, in furniture and in code. I build for the long run, not to look good today.

What I do

Sites, search and small tools.

01

WordPress sites

Content sites, deal sites and custom plugins, set up, hosted and managed from start to finish.

02

SEO & content

Audits, content planning and on-page work to grow organic traffic.

03

Web tools

Small, useful online tools that do one job well, like my Chrome extensions.

04

AI-assisted workflow

I use AI tools like Claude, connected to WordPress, to build and manage sites faster. Then I check every detail myself, because measure twice, cut once still applies.

What you’ll find here

Plugin and tool reviews

Built from actually installing and using the product, not from its marketing page.

WordPress development notes

The kind I’d want to read myself while building something.

Hosting and SEO guides

Based on what I’ve actually run across my own sites.

I write everything myself. If something is bad, I say it’s bad, even if it costs me a commission.
