Headless WordPress, in plain words

This is a sample post, written to test the new blog. It is hidden from Google.

“Headless” sounds complicated, but the idea is simple. WordPress is where I write. A separate website is what visitors see.

The simple picture

Think of WordPress as the kitchen and the website as the dining room. Guests never go into the kitchen. They only see the finished plate.

Why bother

  • The public site can be very fast
  • The writing side can stay private
  • I can change the look without touching my posts

When I publish a post, the website rebuilds itself and the post appears.
