This is a sample post, written to test the new blog. It is hidden from Google.
My portfolio used to run on WordPress like everything else I build. It worked, but for a few pages that almost never change, it was more than I needed. Every visit asked a server to build the page again.
What changed
The portfolio is now a set of plain pages that are built once and served from Cloudflare. They load fast and there is very little that can break.
- Pages are built once, not on every visit
- Hosting is simple and cheap
- WordPress stays in the background for writing posts
What stayed the same
I still write in WordPress, because it is the tool I know best. The new site just reads my posts from it.
Use the simplest thing that does the job.
That is the whole idea.
